The Dashboard

Your central command center for monitoring backups, viewing client health, and accessing quick actions across all your servers.

Overview

The dashboard is the first thing you see when you log in to Borg Backup Server. It gives you a high-level view of your entire backup infrastructure at a glance — how many clients are connected, which backups succeeded or failed, storage usage, and recent activity.

Status Cards

At the top of the dashboard, you'll find status cards that summarize your backup environment:

  • Total Clients — The number of servers and machines connected to Borg Backup Server
  • Successful Backups — How many backup jobs completed successfully in the last 24 hours
  • Failed Backups — Any backup jobs that failed and may need attention
  • Storage Used — Total storage consumed across all repositories
Tip: Click on any status card to jump directly to the filtered view of those clients or jobs.

Recent Activity

The activity feed shows a chronological list of recent backup events. Each entry includes the client name, backup type, duration, and result. You can quickly identify which backups need attention.

Quick Actions

From the dashboard, you can perform common tasks without navigating away:

  • Trigger a manual backup for any client
  • View the latest archive for any client
  • Jump to a client's detail page
  • Access global settings
