Dark / Light Mode

Choose the interface theme that works best for you — dark mode for low-light environments or light mode for bright settings.

Theme Options

Borg Backup Server supports three theme modes:

  • Dark Mode — A dark background with light text, easier on the eyes in low-light environments and popular among developers
  • Light Mode — A traditional light background with dark text, ideal for bright environments
  • System — Automatically matches your operating system's theme preference (follows your OS dark/light mode setting)

Switching Themes

Navigate to Profile → Appearance and select your preferred theme. The change takes effect immediately — no page reload required.

Tip: The System option is great if you use your operating system's scheduled dark mode (e.g., dark mode at night, light mode during the day). Borg Backup Server will automatically switch to match.

What Changes

The theme affects all visual elements of the interface — backgrounds, text colors, borders, cards, buttons, and charts. All functionality remains identical between themes; it's purely a visual preference.
